My wife & I own & operate Lebanon Transmissions Inc. We recently rebuilt a A340F/H transmission in a 2001 Toyota Tundra SR5 4x4 w/ a 4.7 V8. When I first got in the truck to pull codes & go into the data to check TPS Voltage, Prindle Switch,Freeze Frame, History, etc. I could not do that because the battery was completely dead. The headlights or dash would not even come on therefore any & all codes had been cleared. Someone before us had been into the transmission and patched it. Now it is setting a PO770 code which is a lockup code. I took the customer on a road test with my SolusPro scanner to see if the solenoid was working & if the torque converter was going into lockup which it was & still is. He took the truck to a Toyota Dealer & they told him that it was going into lockup but the rpm's were dropping about 100rpm & should drop 800rpm to 1000rpm which is incorrect. To me it would be like you take your foot offf the gas pedal to slow down for the rpm's to drop that much. Lock up does not drop the rpm's that much but they at least proved that lockup is working. The sad part is that the customer has turned it over to an attorney.Any information or advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & GOD BLESS, Mickey Speight Co-owner of Lebanon Transmissions Inc.
